All on 4

All on 4 provided by in Peachtree Corners, GA at

Missing the majority of your teeth can cause you long term oral health ailments. A lack of teeth can also hinder your confidence and make you less comfortable in social gatherings.

If you are missing multiple teeth and want a brand new smile, there are many great treatment options available to you at our dental clinic in Peachtree Corners, GA.

One popular and effective option offered at Southern Family Dental Care is the All-on-4 Treatment Concept.

What Is All-on-4?

The All-on-4 treatment method is a relatively new means of installing implant-supported dentures.

Implant-supported dentures are dentures that are attached to your mouth using metal posts as opposed to traditional, adhesive dentures.

This method of denture installation is more in-depth than the process of getting traditional dentures, but less invasive than getting more than 4 dental implants.

The All-on-4 treatment method involves the installation of titanium posts to each of the four sections of your mouth. Two posts are installed in your lower jawbone and two are installed in your upper jawbone.

Because they are supporting the weight of multiple teeth, these posts are slightly larger than the ones used for normal dental implants.

The dentures are in four separate pieces and are attached to these posts, giving you a complete and seamless new smile.

Who Needs All-on-4 Implants?

If you have lost a number of teeth and the rest of your natural teeth are damaged or decaying, All on 4 would be a good option for you.

Even if you have a few natural teeth left that are healthy, it may be best to remove them and give you a full set of replacement teeth.

The biggest hurdle you'll face is if your jawbone has lost too much mass. A weakened jawbone is unable to support the dental implants correctly.

However, if your jawbone has lost mass, Dr. Clint Baugham may be able to perform a bone graft first. This procedure involves taking bone from other parts of your body or using artificial bone to strengthen the jaw.

What is Process of Getting All on 4 Dental Implants?

The first step in getting the All-on-4 treatment is to ensure that you are a good candidate for it.

We will visually inspect your mouth, take x-rays to inspect your jawbone density, and perform other diagnostics to determine if this tooth replacement treatment is right for you. If it is, we will then sit down with you to create a plan.

During your initial consultation, our team will collect digital images of your mouth and measure the dimensions of your mouth and gums. This information is utilized to create your custom dentures.

If we need to do bone grafting, that procedure will need to be done first. It can take as long as six months for the grafted bone to fully integrate with your jaw, so you may not be able to get dental implants as soon as you anticipated.

When your dentures are finished, our team will contact you to schedule your implant procedure.

The actual procedure to have the dental implants placed is fairly straightforward.

All on 4 vs. Traditional Dentures

All-on-4 is a great procedure for wearers of traditional full dentures who find them uncomfortable, or who just cannot get on with them.

Full dentures are often prone to slipping, moving, and falling out. It can be a constant battle trying to keep them in place with adhesives and watching what you eat.

This technique dispenses with all of the hassle of wearing dentures, and allows you to be confident that you can eat what you like, talk, laugh, smile, and even take part in activities that you never thought you could without the worry or embarrassment of losing your teeth.

Why Is the All-on-4 Treatment Concept Better?

There are several advantages of All-on-4 enjoyed by our patients:

•  The All-on-4 Treatment Concept provides a solution to patients that are seeking a better alternative to traditional dentures but do not want to undergo multiple procedures.

•  The need for a bone graft is less likely with the All-on-4 treatment - and the dentures can be affixed to your post after the operation.

•  Normal dental implants require that the posts and implant teeth be installed during separate procedures.

•  All-on-4 treatments are generally cheaper than complete dental implants due to the need for only one procedure and less material being utilized.

•  The All-on-4 Treatment Concept will facilitate faster recovery for you due to the fewer number of posts, resulting in less trauma to your mouth.

•  Dentures installed with the All-on-4 concept will last approximately 10 to 20 years. The life of your dentures will vary depending on the quality of home care and whether or not you receive regular professional cleanings.

•  The titanium posts will last for the rest of your life.
